it’s december, and overnight oats are just not cutting it anymore for chilly mornings, so here is a recipe for the best nutrient packed, creamy, and delicious bowl of oatmeal. bonus: it’s gut and blood sugar friendly! we can’t just make it taste good, it has to be goof FOR us.








high protein & gut friendly oatmeal

prep 5 minutes

cook 10 minutes

serves 2


ingredients:

1 cup of raw milk

1/2 cup organic rolled oats

1 egg

1 scoop protein powder

1/2 tbsp butter

1 tsp maple syrup/honey

salt to taste


sauteed fruit:

1 tbsp butter

1 pear (or fruit of choice)

1 tbsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp honey/maple syrup


directions:

  1. add oatmeal and milk to a pot and bring to a simmer. sprinkle in a little bit of salt.

  2. once oatmeal begins to thicken, add butter, egg, protein powder, and maple syrup and mix until smooth.

  3. let it simmer for 3-4 more minutes, cover with lid, and take off heat.

  4. in a small pan, add butter and chopped fruits of choice. sprinkle in cinnamon and sweetener of choice and let it cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until fruit turns soft.

  5. transfer oatmeal to a bowl and add fruit on top. add toppings of choice— seeds, nuts, yogurt, berries, nut butter, honey, etc.
